Let’s know about Manohar Parrikar
Manohar Parrikar was an Indian politician and the most dynamic rightist leader. He was Chief Minister of Goa from March 14, 2017 till his death. In the last two decades, he belongs to the BJP. A degree of political stability was seen in the state when he was on the helm and was destined to be unable to complete a full term as a Chief Minister. He died of pancreatic cancer on March 17, 2019. Earlier, he was Chief Minister of Goa from 2000 to 2005 and 2012 to 2014.
Manohar Parrikar: Career & Achievements
His journey from engineering to politician is a bit diminished. Let us tell you that Manohar Parrikar’s political career started in 1994 when he became a MLA in the Goa Assembly as a member of the BJP. From June to November 1999, he was the leader of the opposition.
He became Chief Minister of Goa for the first time on October 24, 2000, but his tenure lasted only till 27 February 2002. On June 5, 2002, he was re-elected as Chief Minister of Goa and again the term was closed. Four BJP MLAs resigned from the House. He was sworn in again as the Chief Minister of Goa in March 2012 and remained till November 2014.
After this, he appointed Manohar Parrikar as Prime Minister Narendra Modi as Defense Minister of India. In March 2017, he resigned as Union Defense Minister and sworn in as Chief Minister of Goa.

Manohar Parrikar: Early life
He was born on December 13, 1955 in Mapusa, Goa. He did his schooling from Madgaon and completed his schooling from Loyola High School. In 1973, he became a leader in RSS and he was in an intermediate at that time. After completing graduation from IIT, he continued his services for RSS. Then, he did metallurgical engineering from IIT Bombay.

Parrikar’s wife died shortly after becoming Chief Minister of Goa. His wife’s name was Megha Parrikar and Parrikar and Megha Parrikar was married in 1981. Parrikar has two sons. Of which the first son is Utpal Parrikar, while the other boy’s name is Abhijit Parrikar. Both Parrikar’s children have nothing to do with politics. Utpal is working as an engineer, while Abhijit as a business. Manohar Parrikar’s brother Avdhoot Parrikar is also there.
